Xishan Island (西山) is on Taihu Lake, which is 35 kilometers to the southwest of Suzhou. This scenic zone takes advantages of geographical location and excellent natural environment. Beautiful scenery of mountain and water, old and invaluable heritage, and abundant agricultural products have made Xishan Island a famous place and a nice getaway from Shanghai! The group cruised aroud the island from 10 to 12.30, stoped for a quick lunch and kept going for another 2 hours in the afternoon. We finally made about 50 km, mainly on road with only few portion of road.... Not bad for a "beginners ride" The group ready to bike and cruise around Xishan Island!  At that point no one is suffering from the heat yet ~  Beautifull weather and almost blue sky  Taihu lake and Maria   On the way to another small island next to xishan  Fisherman old boats   1000 years old huge tree!  Off road!   A bit of pushing just to taste what an advanced trip looks like ;-)  Nice single track going all around the small island next to Xishan, about 1,5 km if you complete the loop  The single track may be short but really fun   Check out the impact on the tree... Sera just crashed.  "The bike park with massive drops and northshores?? Yes just the other side of the valley" ... Dream it.   Short break. At that point we are all suffering from the heat hehehe  Back to Shanghai, was great day out! See you soon Xishan, it remains a nice place and it s alway nice to go there...  |
